Hello Wildlife Enthusiasts:

Thank you for letting us take a moment of your time. We need your voice in the Oklahoma Wildlife Federation and your commitment to support conservation in our state. With each passing year, your voice and your financial support through membership, increase in importance. Please let me tell you just a little, of what the Oklahoma Wildlife Federation has accomplished in the past, and how it is involved for the future of wildlife conservation in Oklahoma.

By working together, ordinary people have accomplished many extraordinary things here in Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Wildlife Federation led the way in the 1950s with the constitutional amendment for the formation of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, unique in the world for its independence from partisan politics. In the early 1960s, OWF was actively involved in the reintroduction of deer and wild turkey, as well as the clean up of salt water and crud oil scum from Oklahoma's streams and waterways. Our achievements in Wildlife Conservation are truly great, and the OWF has always been there to remind our people, our agencies, and our political leaders of their importance.

OWF has always been the catalyst to make great things happen for conservation and outdoor enthusiasts here in Oklahoma. We have seen the transfer of 100,000 acres from Weyerhaeuser to the U.S. Forest Service protecting the watershed of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River.

The Schoolyard Habitats Program is helping Oklahoma's future conservationists and sportsmen to understand the ecosystems of Oklahoma. OWF, along with students and teachers across the state, is establishing Schoolyard Habitat sites as outdoor classrooms for hands on teaching and experimental learning, as well as a resource for our entire school community.

OWF has been especially active in reminding our legislators of the essential, irreplaceable value of our natural resources and conservation programs during these economically challenging times. Natural resources have, and always will be, the source of solutions to the many challenges facing our people, which seem to escalate almost every year.

So, please, join the Oklahoma Wildlife Federation today, and know that you are doing your part for conservation in our state. Add your voice to make tomorrow even better than today, for our forests prairies, fish and wildlife, and for our people.

Thank You,
